“Selecting a Learning Management System (LMS) – Learning From Those Who Have Been There and Done That”

With the introduction of each new technology and methodology, the training industry continues to make things more efficient and more effective. However, we can’t increase the rate at which a learner consumes information, so now the goal is to make it more easily available.

Learning management is about connecting the dots between what the learner already knows and what the learner needs to know in order to meet the requirements of his or her job.  The use of learning management to guide individuals toward appropriate sources of both formal and informal learning makes sense. This, along with training documentation, is what learning management systems are all about.  (For more information and background on LMSs, access this article which recently appeared in Chief Learning Officer magazine’s Executive Briefings.)

If your company is considering or is in the process of researching, selecting and implementing an LMS, you might feel a little overwhelmed in the sea of LMSs.  If that’s the case and you want to learn from others, you won’t want to miss this interesting discussion with four local colleagues who have been there, done that!  Come to hear our panelist discuss their challenges and what they learned along the way, as well as answer your questions.  Our panel includes:

Chris Bortnichak
Training & Development Specialist, Two Men and a Truck

Leslie Hayden

IT Technical Trainer, Jackson National Life Insurance

Trevor McCready
Director of Instructional Technology, Cornerstone University

Paige Thompson
Supervisor, Quality Education & Training, Emergent BioSolutions

Join our panelists for this discussion on Tuesday, November 9, 11:00a – 1:00p, at Christie’s Bistro, inside the Lexington Hotel, 925 S. Creyts Road, Lansing.  Lunch will be provided and parking is free.
